Hotel in San Ignacio

We're looking for accommodations in San Ignacio around the first of March. We need five rooms dbl occupancy. I've heard of a nice place close to the mission and the square that is nice but I don't know the name or the contact info. We will be traveling by five Rzrs so it would be nice to have secure parking as well. Any info would be appreciated.......gracias CJ

Highly recommend.

we just stayed there last weekend and it was indeed beautiful! The rooms are large and very fancy with nice satellite tv...2 beds was 650 pesos. The place was pretty empty. Free coffee or tea in the office too. No website but the phone # is 615-154-011 and email is hotellahuertabcs@outlook.cs



Only complaint was the walls are thin and you can easily hear the folks next door...which could get interesting I guess...hahaha

they are building a restaurant too and the workers stared at 7 with loud machines...good thing I'm an early riser.



the grounds are huge and they have some pretty weird birds too with faces only a mother could love!




I felt sorry for this owl and a raven they had there too.




We also ate at Victors...fabulous scallops and Juan had a huge plate of milanesa...nice veggies and baked potato...excellent!

615 154-0116 is their phone number- my nieces stayed there last week and they really liked it. The store in the front has plenty of supplies and the office manager is really nice.

Victor's gets a thumbs up from me - we ate there a couple days ago. Mom had an omelet and I had the bistek with beans and salad. The eat had some gristle but that is par for the course at most restaurants.

There is a café, across the street and down just a bit from La Huerta. The animal sculptures in the garden are really great.

Am I the only one who notices how great the water is in San Ignacio? Compared to the harsh SD water- it is heavenly! I LOVE that oasis water!!

(Same for Catavina-- I miss the wonderful spring water.)

The Desert Inn is nicer than La Huerta, but costs more for that reason. You want cheap or you want best?

In July, 2015:
Continue just past the mission and see a new motel in a large grass field, called the La Huerta. A well-stocked market is located at the entrance, and sells ice. The motel was very good, comfortable bed, air conditioning, ceiling fan, and reasonably priced at 550 pesos for a single bed (just under US$40 at a 14:1 exchange). Three remotes (TV, AC, and Fan) in a box, are provided with a refundable 100 peso deposit. Life is good and we sleep well.

Not last July... we went there after finding the La Huerta full on the return trip north. I think it was well over $100 for a double. The manager agreed it was too much and seemed sorry that they were not competitive. We went to Ricardo's and got a big, but less than ideal room for $50 something. Not a happy place when you see a cucaracha in the room.

Rates change with demand. I paid about 55 last year

I guess I didn't "demand" loud enough!?? LOL

Hot, humid late July can't be a high demand season? The La Huerta was filled for a wedding party's relatives and guests.

Recently stayed at the Ignacio Springs Bed and Breakfast. Marvelous. $90 for large yurt and excellent breakfast. About 1.5 KM from Plaza.



Also strongly recommend Victor's restaurant just off the Plaza. Try to get the chili rellenos, so good.
