La Paz to San Diego...El Morro hotel

Easy drive back to home in CA. Potholes are from San Agustin down to Bay of LA turn off...doable at highway speeds. No checkpoints interested in looking at stuff in car. Best part is that Hotel El Morro has an excellent restaurant now that somewhat compares with Jardines. Great service, decent prices. Also they are renovating rooms and the new rooms have new plumbing, tile showers, heating and a/c, and hot water. Still dog friendly with small fee. Many upgrades, pool is filled and clear.

Thanks Jack I may have to give them a try. The last and only time I stayed there was 1989. The waitress was eating food from the tray taking it out and bringing it back after people were done. The margaritas were good.

Where is this located?

Santiago, it is at the south end of Santa Rosalia. I much prefer Las Casitas Santa Rosalia but both have excellent views.

Pesky: I've got to get down there, it's been years. Any fish left in the ocean down your way?

Thanks for that Jack - El Morro was looking rather tired, so good to hear they are renovating. We had a horribly mediocre meal there a few years ago and have avoided the restaurant ever since, but will consider it again now on a future drive .

Also really like Las Casitas!

Some things change so much in a land that changes so little over the centuries!

Restaurants are one of those Baja things that rarely have consistency, over the years.
