The San Felipe boats

The San Felipe boats right off the boardwalk, a few questions to you old timers please: What's the average rates, the best months (is Feb good?). Yes. I know. Go further south but we are conducting business in S.F. for a week. I need to fish at least one day!

Yankee---If you want a fish on your line from san felipe go to the fish shop and by one, hang it on the line and take a picture. If you walk along the water front in SF, there are literally 100's of pangas and they all are full of gill nets. It amazes me these guys make enough money to even pay for the gas. I would imagine in feb. you could get a panga for half a day for around 60.00dls. There is always some starving fisherman who will take you out. Fishin rich

cute little fishy

Well...I hate to buy a fish for a picture. The fish never smile! Thanks for info...I normally surf or bay fish. Rarely have I used pandas(***EDITED! it's Pangas)...explains my lack of knowledge for prices and local catch. Oh?wanna a cute pic of me and the fishy?

Yankee,

I wouldn't try to use those darn pandas either! As bait, not only are they difficult to obtain, but you should see the size of the hook you have to use!!

Rich is right. I don't remember seeing anyone actually line fishing around SF.

When the hell did the Chinese start sending pandas over to San Felipe to use as fishing bears! I have got to get back in touch! Ponga da panda en la panga and go fish!

Yankeeirish....if you have any spare time for travel head further south for some better fishing....maybe as far as Sta. Rosalia or San Marcos Island. There are pangas there and guides who will take you out and get you into some big jurel..yellowtail. I don't know the exact rate but it should be less than $100 day per person...maybe more if just one. The bite right now is very good with live bait...and the added thrill of seeing some giant Humboldt squid.

San Felipe has not been a terrific fishery for a long, long time.

Bueno suerte and good fishing.....

Pangas! I meant that! On the other hand, Pandas are great floats to fish off of, order one from China. Include a life jacket before venturing the seas in your new Pandas.
