Last week we had many visitors stay with us at the B&B.
One was Tony, who is the representative for the handicapped in our State of Baja California Sur. Only 2 feet tall, he was one of the most
charismatic people I have ever met!
He came to La Bocana to talk to the middle school kids about his life story, to create an atmosphere where we could all talk about him and his story.
His main point stressed equality for those who are handicapped - the way he explained it was: they are not more important than any other person. they
are not less important than any other person. they are equally important as any one of us.
He came with two other gentlemen who were also handicapped in different ways and they had the kids do various activities-
HERE ARE THE KIDS LISTENING TO TONY AND SOME ARE BLINDFOLDED AND NATALIA IS IN HIS WHEELCHAIR.
NATALIA WLL BE WHEELED AROUND AND HER TWO GUIDES HAVE TO LOWER HER TO DIFFERENT LEVELS. SHE SAID IT WAS VERY HARD TO TRUST THAT THEY WOULD NOT DROP
HER DOWN TOO FAST:

THERE WERE 4 GROUPS THAT HAD TO BE LEADERS AND LEAD THE BLINDFOLDED KIDS UP AND DOWN STAIRS. IT WAS VERY SCARY FOR THOSE OF US WATHCHING:

ONE OF THE THINGS MENTIONED IS THAT IT IS IMPORTANT TO LOWER YOURSELF TO THE LEVEL OF THE PERSON IN THE WHEELCHAIR WHEN ADDRESSING THEM. I HAD NEVER
HEARD THIS:

The second group that stayed with us were federal police and I will post those photos another day-the whole town was in an uproar wondering WHAT so
many out of town cops were doing here LOL
They travel up and down Baja giving talks on how to deal with kidnappings and how to be very careful with online information.
Boy, just another day in Baja!

That is really interesting, thanks. I guess if a lot of cops showed up all of a sudden it would create a stir of what's going on.

we have had a series of robberies and recently one of the perps was rejailed. Right away my neighbor was on the phone to find out what was going on!
