Who has experience with comparing (Propane)Gas prices?
Here in Los Cabos Gaspasa is increasing prices "by the hour", or let`s say: Every Month. A 45 Gallon Tank now costs $700. Just 5 Month ago it was
$490. Friends in Mulege are complaining the same. Well, between Gro.Negro and Loreto, Gaspasa has no competition as far as I know. So they can
overcharge people as easy as 1,2,3. No competition always is bad!!!dtbushpilot - 3-13-2016 at 12:54 PM
What was the exchange rate 5 months ago vs now? Could have something to do with it.JC43 - 3-13-2016 at 05:29 PM

Maybe. But maybe not. This is an entirely Mexican issue and the exchange rate has nothing to do with it. Propane is manufactured in Mexico. So? The
Pesos is earned here and spend here. No exchange rate involved. Am I wrong?dtbushpilot - 3-13-2016 at 05:32 PM

my 80 gal tank in La Paz went from $1,300 pesos (2010) to $2,300 pesos (2014) - now down to $1,900 pesos
I have used all the various vendors - prices vary very little among themJC43 - 3-13-2016 at 07:12 PM

What Kg is 80 Gal ? Anyway, with Gaspasa prices move only up, never down. That in a record speed. But I can imagine that among the producers of
propane, there is no big price difference. One is skeptically looking at the other. If the one is raising the price, the next will raise within the
same minute, just not leaving any $$$ behind. Paulclark - 3-13-2016 at 08:39 PM
Global Gas and Caligas are owned by the same company. They also own the Ford dealership...... 4x4abc - 3-13-2016 at 09:46 PM
I could figure that! But what Kg is 80 Gal? Just wanna figure the Kg price.
In 10 seconds searching Google for "butane weight per gallon" you could find the information yourself.
That is perfectly o.k.
BUT: If everybody would google everything / any question, nobody would post here in BajaNomad anything> other than David K posting some old (and
interesting) maps of Baja! 4x4abc - 3-15-2016 at 03:07 PM
at least in La Paz propane is sold by the liter - not by kgncampion - 3-15-2016 at 03:13 PM
I have also noticed the price of propane double over the past few years, not sure what is the driver of this product. I do know that filling the
typical BBQ tank (5gal?) costs about $120 pesos, whereas filling the same tank in the US is around $25USD. So it's still OK in my book.
