One place to never go!

bajatrailrider - 3-18-2016 at 12:18 PM

I made Reservations At Valentina Motel, San Vicente. For 8 persons, paid in full. Upon 8 friends arriving, The lady owner double charged two of them. Found this out at Dinner time, I went back there. Confronted Lady owner. She Said They did not like the room,so she give them another room. I demanded my money back, for the room I Pd for. They changed rooms because it was dirty, too much noise from cars. She stated you cant have your money back, because my policy. You did not give one day notice to cancel room. Not happy with her cheating ways. I told her to call police, she said why. I told her,my truck in your drive way.I will not move it till you refund. Police called, long story short. Backfired on her,Police rides bikes with me. Forced her got my refund. The other 10 Friends Where at Motel El Camino. All happy highly recommended. Do not stay at Valentina Motel.:)

Bummer....

bajatrailrider - 3-18-2016 at 12:52 PM

It is a bummer, now finding out. This lady cheating, many other customers. Then tell you too bad,not my problem.

DianaT - 3-18-2016 at 12:59 PM

Sorry you had a bad experience.

We have stooped there to eat for over 20 years and have always had a very good experience. The family has always been very friendly and the food is good. Lots of locals eat there as well as traveling vendors.

From our experiences they are very good people. However, we have never stayed at their hotel as it is not pet friendly.

Again, sorry that you had a bad experience. It is the way of things -- same place and same owners and different experiences.

We will continue to recommend the restaurant based on our experiences.

Wow, sorry about your experience. I think that is how you should not run a business. I guess they forgot the customer comes first policy.

BajaBlanca - 3-18-2016 at 02:02 PM

I did have a good laugh the other day when I read the last input some guests had written in our guest book: the hotel is very clean :))))

Since the cleaner is yours truly, that made me happy! but I also joked....I can imagine they have stayed in mega dirty places to write that down as a comment LOL

bajatrailrider - 3-18-2016 at 02:19 PM

The first time I was there to eat 1976.Never had a problem with food there. This Lady knows I'm a local, and could bring her lots of customers.I was very nice to her, explaining she cant charge twice. Then she got rude, then I got even. Today I have talked to many locals, all shared there bad experience with her. So I will always recommend .DON'T GO TO Valentina MOTEL.

4x4abc - 3-18-2016 at 04:42 PM

I second the Valentina experience. Bad place. Greedy people. Dirty rooms.

norte - 3-18-2016 at 05:05 PM

If you are a local, wouldn't you know what the place was like before making reservations for 8 people? and 10 other friends? I'll bet the hard feeling is mutual now.

ehall - 3-18-2016 at 05:46 PM

Not a lot of hotels in San Vicente. When El Camino was full I slept in Larrys RV .

No other motels had rooms for 8.Since I already put 10 at Motel El Camino. As far as feeling mutual,I hope she was not.Happy to have, the police at her motel. For all to she her argue with them. There are ways to teach cheats ,that you cant get away with it. She even was rude to the police. I did not even care about the money, its the way she acted.Like nothing you can do about it.

It is like there are two kinds of Mexicans, or perhaps bi-polarism is the case?

Most of the time we encounter the wonderful people that are one of the reasons we keep going back. Then there is the odd case that bajatrailrider describes... and the same is heard when it comes to property issues and squatters and having your home broken into or burned down, like some Nomads here have experienced.

I guess in the end, people are people and they are either givers or takers.

It takes 2 to tango. Often the customer causes the situation themselves. The customer is not always right. Sometimes the customer is just impolite or obstinate and escalates this conflict.

The most inane thing I have read in a long time.

Besides, only bajatrailrider knows his experience, no one else. And with the same family, we have had nothing but really good experiences.

Quite simple, we will continue to highly recommend them and their restaurant, and he will continue to not recommend them and their hotel.

Pretty reductionistic thinking here.....not likely a mental health problem, either.

There are more than two types of people on the planet....except for those who only see the polar extremes and miss all the grey area between....

Oh, well.....

David K - 3-19-2016 at 09:01 AM

Inane, reductionistic? Geeze you two, it was just an observation.

Howard - 3-19-2016 at 10:15 AM

How can I follow this absurd bickering if you keep using all those big city words?

At least on the other threads the knuckleheads use insulting words I understand

David,,
Geeze....they were just comments based on observation...and we know how bullet-proof "observations" are.....

Just trying to encourage a broader view when observing....

bajabuddha - 3-19-2016 at 04:27 PM

Geez, DK..... yer epidermis is showing..... and it's translucent... :smug:

As the picture illustrates, sometimes the customer is wrong, sometimes the customer is a jerk that should be refused service.

In this case its the MT66 that is the jerk,as normal. You report, but your not there. So your jerk post is zip as norm.
