Any Sentri reports this week?

Hearing Sentri was 2 hour wait at San Ysidro the other day.

Spring Break, Semana Santa, and Brussels terrorism the cause.

Any reports? I wanted to do a beach day Sunday but not if Sentri will be 2 hours.

Crossing times always lengthen after a terrorist bombing. It's because agents are instructed to be extra vigilant. So figure twice the normal waiting time the first day or two after an incident. If nothing happens before Monday, waiting times should be back to normal, but that could be close to an hour on Easter Sunday afternoon in the Sentri lanes at San Ysidro.

I have a ton of friends who cross for work each day and they were all complaining about wait times this past week. I'm gonna go for it. Gracias amigos.

don't know....but a couple years back we had just gotten to gonzaga and an emergency had us turn back around. easter sunday mexicali at noon was 5 minutes!

I crossed yesterday around 11:00am through the San Yisdro border, it took 20 minutes with my Sentri pass... I had friends who said they waited 4 hours yesterday with no Sentri pass.

..and don't forget that when heading into Mexico at the Chapparal crossing is possibly going to be a problemafter Monday . The far right exit that crosses over the river to connect with road to Playas, Rosarito and Ensenada will be closed while it is being demolished and a new bridge built, Not sure where the detor will take you in TJ.

On Monday morning I saw an electronic sign that said the C. Internacional (the road that goes along the border to the beginning of the toll road) is closed and directs traffic to the Zona Río and Paseo de los Heroes. This means staying in the two left lanes after clearing customs. Watch for the overhead sign before the second roundabout and follow the old highway to Rosarito. There's a final hitch where the old highway intersects the toll road. The normal southbound on ramp is closed due to bridge construction. It's necessary to make a funky U-turn before the stoplight and then the first right into the southbound on ramp.

An alternative is to follow the Centro sign after clearing custom (again the two left lanes) and then use Third Street and then Second Street to go over the hill and on to Playas de Tijuana. Second and Third Streets are one-way in downtown Tijuana. Playas de Tijuana can also be accessed by using the toll road from Rosarito.

I live in Playas and cross every day. Ave International towards the border was closed this morning 3/29 at 02:30 and the detour routes you up Constitution, right past the Zona Norte clubs, to 2nd.

I fear the trip home tonight. I plan to take Ocampo to 5th and cross through Centro then jump down to 2nd.

What is usually a quick ride home is going to become a nightmare.

MX is saying Ave International closed for 10 days starting 3/28 Of course it will probably be a little longer. I may stay on the US side a whole lot more

Rats....I'm supposed to speak at noon, at a conference at the TJ Marriott Saturday, re legalizing marijuana.

(Last year the Mexican Supreme Court ruled that individuals could -in some cases- use marijuana for personal use, particularly medical related, and an organization in Baja wants to know how we have done things in California to begin the medical and legalization process.)

So... now I'm wondering if driving down on Saturday will be a PITA... and I have 2 other events in San Diego later that day.

Not sure, but I don't think the construction is going to affect getting to the Marriott and back.

true- it's been a long, slow, disorganized "process" that has cost many people their homes, jobs and property as they tried to comply with contradictory local/state/federal laws to use/cultivate medical marijuana.

I will offer a cautionary tale.
