Puerto Agua Verde

What are the road conditions riding west from Agua verde to constitution? Thinking of riding dirt bikes from Loreto to La Paz going this way. Looks like a long day. Any input???

Thanks

Forget it unless you are a trials rider. The road up from the arroyo is badly damaged. Easier to go down than up and down is hard.

dtbushpilot can better answer it as he did it on a bike.

Friends of mine did it in their FJ and T4R two weeks ago and had no issues.

That's excellent news, sounds like there has been some road fixing going on. I'll check with my local riding friends to see what they know. My experience was from a year and a half ago, a lot can change in that time. Someone on bikes was going to go that way a month or two ago and was asking questions here, did we ever get a report back from them?

the regular pass at San Cosme is heading west to Constitucion - easy in 2WD

the Agua Verde "back door" pass out of Arroyo San Isidro is heading south to Constitucion. Unless it has been fixed, it's not FJ territory

This south route is the route I plan on going. We are riding dirt bikes and all good riders. Is this a good bike route west?

I have checked with a couple of sources and neither had any current intel, both suggested that I go check it out. I'm a bit busy till mid May so how about you giving it a try and report back. I would suggest getting an early start at the hill and have a plan B in case it isn't to your liking, who knows, it might be easy. Once you make the top of the hill it's smooth sailing to Constitution.

Is the "San Cosme" route you speak of the normal road in and out of AV from the highway or do you stay on the dirt roads to Constitution?

the San Cosme route is the well established dirt road (partially paved) connecting to MEX1
however, you could head south west instead of north west at Rancho Viejo
from there you have several cool dirt options towards Consttucion

the Agua Verde back door road has been fixed recently - extremely steep, but a cool drive. Checked it yesterday.

Have you done La Paz-Evaristo and West to Hwy 1 recently? Would appreciate any recent info. Thanks.

San Evaristo to MEX1 is as smooth as glass

Seems like someone was talking about the back door road in another thread recently.... The road to Timbabichi thread maybe??
