Walking across border "Ready Lane"??

grace59 - 4-6-2016 at 05:17 PM

Due to unforeseen circumstances, I will have to be walking across the Old Border in Mexicali on Saturday morning. Last time I walked across I noticed a "Ready Lane"....at that time I did not have an Enhanced Driver's License....I do now. Can this be used in the Ready Lane when walking across?? I know that it is accepted when crossing by car (although I've never done this because I just got the new Enhanced License). Thanks for the help.

Thanks, but I can't find anything about the Pedestrian Ready Lane at Calexico West although I know it exists. I emailed the USCBP and was told that I could expect my answer in 2-3 business weeks. (LOL) I don't have that long!!!

just do it. all they can do is let you in, with or without a verbal brow beating.

The link I posted explains an enhanced driver license can be used in the Ready Lane.

I walked across at San Ysidro last summer. There were two lanes. I stood in what I beeline was the slower, non-ready lane. At the front if the line, the Immigration officer told me I could have used the faster lane with my regular passport and that the lane I was I. Was for people without proper documents or some other issue. Over thanksgiving, I sent my dad through the faster lane with just a regular passport. No issue.

Yes, thank you...it just talks about crossing by car...I am going to assume crossing by foot is that same.

good assumption

Discover Baja has a list of doc's that are driving Ready Lane accepted, they in the same section,
indicate the same
doc's are accepted in the ped Ready Line, the enhanced
DL's are included as ped Ready Line accepted doc's

Is there still a Ready Lane for pedestrians at the Mexicali border?
This site doesn`t list any. Only TJ and Otay have ped. RL.

Dang nabit, you made me go look. I use the site you listed,
not much indication. On the other crossing site, can't
remember the exact wording, btw.gov, something
lists no ped RL at Calexico East, but does list ped Ready Line
Calexico West

Yes, it shows a Ped. Ready Lane at the West (Old) Border, but not at the East Border Crossing.
