Thursday, today, The ready lane at Otay was backed up one kilometer. This is unheard of. Is something new happening?
Grieving? Prince died
Could be union grievance, work slowdown
Or is just the usual security theatre.
gave up

I could not see the regular lanes without trying to enter them.
On the way out, I thought about trying SY and then regained reason. What is going on?SFandH - 4-21-2016 at 05:20 PM
Right now, 5:18pm, San Ysidro, there are 50 cars in the regular lanes, 320 in the ready lanes, and 180 in the sentri lanes.
perhaps a ready/sentri RFID card reader computer network hack to steal everyone's info is slowing things down.apple - 4-21-2016 at 07:24 PM
ONE KILOMETER!!?! I have waited in the ready lane from Via de la Juventud and Homboldt a few times, which is probably close to 3km. A few Monday
afternoons ago it took us close to two hours to cross.
better day and time

So obviously something new is happening. What is a better day and time to give the ready lane a try?Udo - 4-22-2016 at 08:21 PM
Something's gotta be happening...I got shown the way to secondary today.

I drove across northbound today at San Ysidro using the Ready Lanes. It looks like the RFID card readers aren't working. Normally the red LED display
next to the reader changes from zero to one when you hold your card up. Today it stayed at zero, it didn't change. The line moved slowly.

Thanks to SFandH for the tracking website for both international ports of entry. I have not seen another website that purports to count the total
number of cars in line. The only other site that I was able to look at was some sort of time measurement at the gate. Worthless. It is interesting to
note that right now there are no cars in the regular lanes at SY. These numbers have been heavily skewed all week.
