Probably.

Should ask David though.

Oh, and this thing about steering toward the water where the surface is harder that he practices, what about when you are surrounded by water?

Disclaimer.....No clams were killed in the digging of this hole! Well, not too many.

David K - 5-13-2016 at 11:11 AM

Harald....forgetting for the moment why and how this gentleman found himself there.....was he DOOMED or did he have a chance of getting himself out of there? (other than someone towing him out) :?:

His chances were excellent
in theory
he had the right vehicle

BUT
he did not know how to use it
too much air
too much gas

also, on his attempt to climb out, his front right tire went up first
that made the front left lose traction
that in turn will make the right rear lose traction
(always diagonally opposed)

then he gassed it straight down to China

so, you either climb with both fronts at the same level
or you use lockers, if you have them

All true, Harold, but i am thinking he should have continued backing up using minimal power to where the sand appeared to be firmer as he had just driven over it. He was in one of those famous bottomless pits where he was, and did almost everything wrong, IMO. Sad to watch.

But then, anybody driving a perfectly good vehicle out into salt water is missing a few marbles, regardless of his lack of sobriety.

he must do that a lot ... cuz, he's not afraid of getting stuck

All those Fiats are pretty much the same, unreliable.

But I am intrigued by the new fiat spider coming this year, it's a Miata with fiat sheet metal,... So maybe will have reliability of a Mazda, eh? Pity it's a Miata, as they are built for short people and I can't fit in their seats.

The TJ and LJ Wrangler was a Daimler-Chrysler product. The '07 Wrangler and newer is produced by Fiat-Chrysler Automotive (FCA). The 4.0liter engine the drunk sunk was a favorite engine of many Jeep owners. Mine has 160,000 miles on it with many more miles to come.

Fiat. Chrysler. What's it matter? Neither name has been associated with quality!
