Can you reliably get from La Purisima/San Isidro, thru Comondu, and then down to San Javier, without dropping all the way down to almost Insurgentes
to make a loop out of that and end up in Loreto?

I haven't seen a report on the road lately. There are ranches along the way and they usually find a way to get thru if rains have damaged the road.
The road from Comondu to San Javier is rougher than the road from San Isidro to Comondu. But the rough sections are mostly down hill. I say go for it
