Walking into TJ

thefishkiller - 8-19-2016 at 09:25 AM

I recently crossed through the new pedestrian crossing southbound by the jack in the box. I am curious if the old southbound pedestrian lanes are still open by the ueta duty free shop. I want to walk across and walk to downtown across that old pedestrian bridge. is this still possible?

The one you used is the only available entrance to México for pedestrians. The pedestrian bridge in Tijuana is still there.

I walk into TJ on occasion, your ? confuses me a bit.
The newer southbound ped entrance, is as you said
on the east side of Hwy 5, where the SD trolley ends.
I believe you are referring to the old ped entrance,
which was by the duty free shop, close to that vehicle
turnaround. That entrance has been closed for 3 yrs.
or so. There is a new ped crossing near the foot of the
outlet mall, ped west, 1/2 mi. west of Hwy 5, ped west is currently for northbound peds only, southbound
to open in some months, so the ped crossing southbound
you used is the only ped entry into TJ at the moment, you
can come back thru ped west, POSSIBLY saving a little time
in line

Ok thank you. I figured it was closed. It has been about 4 years since I had walked across.
