Costa del Sol is one of the more popular places. On the right, as you drive into town.

In Jan. we stayed at Guillermos and it was good. Nice outdoor dining area looking out at the water as well as indoors. The rooms were $40, maybe $45. I don't know if they had WiFi as I did not have my PC with me.

It's on the left (east side) before the turn heading south at the end of the pavement.

I agree with DK, Costa del Sol is a good place, but there are lots of other places. As far as how long the drive is from Gonzaga to BoLA, it depends on your driving habits, it takes me 3+ hours but I'm pretty slow on the road.

Gonzaga to Hwy. 1, 35 miles (only 12 are paved): 1.5-2 hrs
Hwy. 1 to L.A. Bay Jcn., 30 miles: 1/2 hr.
Hwy. 1 Jcn. to L.A. Bay, 40 miles: 3/4 hr.

Gonzaga to L.A. Bay: 105 miles (23 unpaved) ~3 hrs + Coco Visit!

I have a fondness for Guillermos. Right on the beach.

Stayed at Guillermo's...Rustic. Costa del Sol....nicer but not on water..good restaurant. Las Hamacas was OK but we had some stuff stolen that was left outside. We did not like Bahia Villa, but we know of others who do.

What ever you do, protect your belongings while there.

I have stayed at Guillermo's many times, and like the place. On the water, huge rooms, good restaurant, nice people. I have eaten at Casa Del Sol, and their food is as good. Never stayed there because they are always full when I am making reservations...must be good too!

Given your avatar, I can see why.
I notice that the drive down is now taking me an hour longer than it used to take - I just drive slower and stop more often for breaks.
3 hours form BOLA to GB is about right for a loaded down pick up.

Yeah Jim that was not one of my better days. Luckily my wife and I were not hurt. I'm still driving that truck, it is the white f350 I drive around Bahia.
