Just starting to receive the first reports from Elias Calles (south of Pescadero). Its been blowing and raining for seven hours now (since 3am
Tuesday). Many downed trees and all the arroyos are very flooded. No reports of damage or loss of life yet as everyone is still hunkered down in

It will be interesting to see how much water is caught by that new dam just north of Los Cabos. Hopefully it reduced some of the flooding!

AK gringo, what dam are you talking about? I would like to know where the dam is located and which arroyo is effected?
There are too may arroyos between CSL and SJC along the corridor.
I have never seen anything about the dam in the Gringo Gazette.

The dam is located at the following:
Latitude: 23.253634°
Longitude: -109.826077°
I visited there in both 2015 and 2016. It was not finished in 2015 and it was over 1/2 full of water when we visited in 2016. There is no outlet
except the over flow. It is meant to fill the ground water system.
Newton just began to give us a drizzle in San Ignacio at 1 p.m. Tuesday. Very gradually increasing until now at 5:45 p.m. the noise on my tin roof is

thanks all for your updates and Juanita, I love your storm gauge! It looks rather ominous to the southeast of us here in Asuncion and bets are being
made on precipitation....a popular passtime here in the hood.
I hope all our southern amigos fared not too badly and am wishing well for our gulf side brothers and sisters who are bound to have a long few hours
ahead. The sierra will be smiling anyway.
