Ensenada hotel ?

Hope someone here remembers me. Need a hotel recommendation for Ensenada, spur of the moment trip, been so long I simply cant remember where I used to stay. Don't need four star but want clean and safe. $50-$100 for double. Also I am taking the bus from TJ, ABC is that correct? Thanks so much.

San Nicolas Hotel has a casino so you can get filthy rich on your spare time.

Thanks. Been a long time but I recall an area with fishing boats, fish market and great mariscos places, is Hacienda near there? Leaving soon, walking across and taking bus. As I recall the bus depot in Ens. was pretty far from where I stayed, I remember thinking next time I'm getting a cab, it was a long walk. Does that sound right?

The bus stops twice in Ensenada. First....right off Ruiz [Hussongs] on 6th. That would be around 7 blocks from the fish market area. Second....bus terminal up on 10th. Cabs all over the place by both stops.
By the way....when you return north on ABC, make sure you get the bus that goes to the border. The other destination is the main terminal, about a million miles away.

Hotel Santo Tomas is on the corner opposite Anthony's and the fish market/fish taco joints are right across the main drag.

Fish tacos for lunch.......fish of another sort for dessert...:lol:

I have stayed here several times...not fancy.....price is right.

If traveling by bus, you options are limited.
I would go with the endorsement of Hotel Santo Tomas. Right in the middle of everything in Ensenada.

Be sure to sop and eat at a La Guerrerense, about two blocks from the hotel. The place is always packed.

Hacienda is on Second, the "Tourist Street" is 1st. Plenty of places to eat. Fish taco's all around. About 3 blocks away is the Malecon and the docks, seafood places abound. Take a taxi (cheap) from the bus station on 10th to the Hacienda, from the Hacienda you can hoof it around downtown or take taxis

The TJ ABC bus station, 3 blks from the border where you walk into TJ, has been
called La Linea station. As D said, coming back to TJ, try to get
a bus that goes back to that station, the Central TJ Bus is 4mi.
esst of the border. If you do end up at the Central station, there
are city bussess that go to the border from that station $.75 or so

This. And the place may just be the most secure hotel and parking lot in Ensenada for the tenderfeet. Gorgeous pool. Great restaurant, and as DENNIS mentioned, a casino in the building.

Nico Saad, who I'm am privileged to know, is the owner. He was a world class Olympic swimmer back in the day.

Last few times we stayed there, we got chits to use in the casino. Of course my friend DENNIS knows who runs the casino.

Seriously? The place is a dump versus a full service hotel like San Nicolas.
