The Grandpa's

As we head south please don't forget to drop a little something for the old guys. Turkey and lots of food is on sale this week, please think about them and drop something off on the way down. You can share a little of you catch on the way home. Cash works too....
Happy Thanksgiving Nomads.

Is there an easy way to send them cash from north of border?
Let`s say you wanted to bring some stuff down, what would you suggest? I`m thinking reading glasses, clothes? food? How many grandpas are living there? Thanks for your efforts!

Great to see people talking about the Grandpas... Haven't heard from Penny in a long time so any info would be appreciated. The Baja Whackers group stops at least 4-5 times a year and enjoys giving and visiting. I've posted a few times about how easy it is to get to their house, maybe 5 minutes off Hwy 1 at the shipwreck sign. NO excuse not to go see these fine gentleman. One of the things we always enjoy is shaking hands, patting on the back, conversing with these great men who probably have stories in their lives that are incredible. The smiles they give us are amazing. One time we had a great catch from SQ and stopped on the way back north to give them about 50 lbs of WSB. The smiles were incredible as many of them who don't talk much certainly knew about fish!

The Baja Fools Race Support pit crew stopped by the Casa Hogar Ancianos after pitting Rob Mac at the Baja 1000. They dropped a bunch of extra food supplies off for the "Ancianos". This has become a regular stop on many of our trips to the races.

There are about 10 old guys taking care of each other.
I will defer to Penny F. to what they can use but they can use everything. This week I bought $50.00 of depends and a turkey at one place and $50.00 dollars of canned goods and a turkey. "But by the grace of god " it's about 10 mins off the highway if you drive slow. Please do what you can. Cash is good too.
