Hi,
Staying just south of San Felipe for a few days and want to check out Shell Island. Where should we turn off? I've read the turnoff is between km 20
and 26 but can anyone narrow that down for me? Also, Is it only accessible during low tide?
Thanks!

The access road is just past km.26, a pair of cindar block columns are at the road. There is another one that cuts across it from a km or 2 sooner,
but it has deep sand. The road is 2 miles to the beach and the last 1/2 mile is over a salt/mud flat. This can be underwater or muddy during full or
new moon high tides. 4WD only on the road. There is a diagonal track to the right on the flats that is the original access and even if there is water
on it, stay in the track to avoid the oatmeal like mud on each side! Have fun! Was there last this past September.

Did you get to San Borja or other sites last year?

Thank you! We did get to San Borja. Funny you mention that, I just added your mission book to my Christmas list!

Thank you, I hope you enjoy it as much as others have! That was a lot of work but very rewarding. We camped at San Borja last September. José has nice
palapas there and showers and flush toilets. Very impressive for the location!

I may have seen you checking it out, baja99. I drove by in a black jeep grand Cherokee. Was that you I waved to?
Hope you enjoyed it. That place is magical.
