Stun Gun Laws in Mexico

clevenhagenjs - 2-8-2005 at 12:41 AM

Can anyone tell me if there are laws against the Possesion or use of Stun Guns in Mexico?

Bruce R Leech - 2-8-2005 at 07:42 AM

yes they are illegal Mexico along with mace and pepper spray. it is also illegal for you to fight back with your bear hands if you are attacked if you are a foreigner.

Bruce R Leech - 2-8-2005 at 08:05 AM

crazy isn't it but that is the way it works.

Makes Sense to Me

MrBillM - 2-8-2005 at 10:35 AM

After all, those "Bear" hands have long, sharp claws that could be lethal.

PacO - 2-8-2005 at 11:19 AM

Nice catch, Mr. Bill.

I didn't believe it so I looked it up. The law has some stipulations:

It's only illegal if your attacker is a police officer OR if you put up a successful defense.:lol:

Of course this law only applies to 'bear' hands. Guns and Knives are OK.;D

What valid information can you add.
I for one would like to know the whole story because I have never been one to turn the other cheek.

The best defense is a fast and furious offense.

Well, everybody uses pepper sprays around here, stun guns are illegal, if attacked you can defend yourself anyway you like, if your going to shoot someone, you better make sure they shot at you first or hurt you in a way that its obvious your life was in danger.

By the way, if your a proven martial arts fighter, you can go to jail if you beat up someone who is not, they tought me that a long time ago.

Adding fuel to the fire, I guess,

when we were burglarized a few years ago,

the invesitigating police officer said: 1) if the burglar is in your house, you can defend yourself as best you can; 2) if you shoot someone on your property, throw them into the ocean.

Bruce R Leech - 2-9-2005 at 08:55 AM

Hose A I got my info from My lawyer and the local police here in Mulege.

we had a incident a few years ago where a American tried to defend himself in a bar and he was deported. I did not think it was right at the time so I checked it out.

Bruce R Leech - 2-9-2005 at 09:19 AM

25 dollars well spent I think.

This other man was only fighting with fists.

Cell Phone Stun Gun

clevenhagenjs - 2-13-2005 at 11:05 AM

I have a cell phone Stun Gun and have used it on few people here in Mexico. It delivers 120,000 volts of juice.

120K

MrBillM - 2-13-2005 at 12:13 PM

What kind of crowds do you travel with ? In 40 years of travelling and living in Baja, I've never encountered the NEED to use a Stun Gun on anyone. I have meant numerous people who I would have LIKED to use one on, but that is a bit different.

I would suggest a few shots of tequila instead. They are more responsive that way.;D

Have fun in the Jail.

woody with a view - 2-28-2005 at 06:19 PM

it's funny, gringos can't have guns w/out proper forms. last time i was down south, i saw 3 different rifles and even shot one. owned by the locals of course...

I think this was about stun guns

jrbaja - 2-28-2005 at 07:00 PM

And I havent seen any down here. Almost everyone I know has guns here. And they are all legal. This is because they have bandidos and wild animals that need to be shot.
Pretty darn good idea too if youve ever been in the mountains of Baja.
I believe the current rate to bag a Bighorn Sheep here is $40,000.00 u.s. The problem is that some lawyers and chiropracters are willing to pay that.:fire:

what a wasted thread

BajaVida - 2-28-2005 at 07:23 PM

:fire:

I was not dissin' any particular comment

jrbaja - 2-28-2005 at 07:26 PM

And besides, many of my posts are wasted on P-nche gringos who think they are All That.:lol::lol:
