Around 1990, this then famous flamenco guitarist was undergoing cancer therapy in TJ and between treatments he would come to Mulege and stay at the
Hacienda Hotel. His manner and bright personality made one like him immediately. He was a superb player. He came to my house one day and gave us a
great impromtu concert...After all these years I am embarrassed to say that I cannot recall his name...I think it started with an 'S'. Sadly, he
passed away soon after this visit and the world lost a great artist. Can anybody help me with his name?

Al ain't dead.
At first I thought it looked like Christopher Parkening but he ain't dead either.
The face looks REAL familiar. Was he Spanish?

I believe he was Spanish...I'll take the photo to Mulege today and see if anyone can indentify him.

Does Christopher Parkening have a neck like that? Why does the guy have it all wrapped up?
Pompano - 2-9-2005 at 03:24 PM
I'm pretty sure this fellow's name was not Parkering.
He wrapped his neck because his terminal cancer was in his throat...a goiter-like growth. He was merely putting a fashionable touch to it...pretty
tough when you consider the circumstances.
