Gasoline

huesos - 1-6-2017 at 05:11 PM

There is need for a reference to a website that posts gasoline availability on the peninsula. Going by word of mouth takes me back to the seventies, the situation is ridiculous. Today I was informed that there is no gas in San Quintin and that the road is closed. It is possible that you might hear anything.
This is supposed to be a site at least partly about travel on the Baja and yet there is no mention of the current situation. What I need is reliable information, not conjecture or uninformed opinion.

The issue is changing rapidly. kinda hard to keep track of.

The gasoline situation (crisis to some), like everything in Mexico, is in a constant flux. We could give you a report about a certain PEMEX in a specific location and in 5 minutes it could all change. Just relax and go with the flow.

If you are planning a trip, I would do it in stages. Get gas where you can, bring food and drinks. Plan on staying overnight someplace.........remember it is about the journey, not the destination

peace, love and fish tacos

PS: If you find the lack of information here frustrating, check out the Talk Baja facebook page

It will all be taken care of, when all people get used to the new prices.
Remember the US, in the early 70s.

If there's not an app for finding the best fish tacos ... I sense a business opportunity!

This whole gas thing is much ado about nothing, Facebook paranoia. I live in Pescadero and filled my tank with no line at the Pemex here yesterday. Today I had to go to Cabo and every Pemex I passed was business as usual. If you are travelling, as always fill up when you have the chance and a quarter tank left, stretch your legs, have a taco. Its Mexico...

Nothing different over here in Sonora. Business as usual. Went to a big Rosco de Reyes celebration on the malecon yesterday. Very peaceful, though it seemed like an unusually large police presence; probably because of all the turmoil elsewhere. The governor's sister was in attendance, in her stead; maybe that was it. They paid no attention to our partially wrapped Tecates in the midst of it all (at 4pm).

We were the only gringos in attendance. Occasionally, we are allowed out of Gringolandia, Chuckie.

But I have to agree. The OP has no HUESOS. Change your board name, at least, dude.

Good on ya Hookie! Sounds like fun....I'll be headed South middle of next week....

Udo - 1-7-2017 at 10:16 AM

By next week all the gas stuff will have blown over.

Or take the bus! (There is ABC and AGUILA).

Talk Baja on Facebook is sure making it sound bad, and reports Sat am that roads are still blocked in San Quintin... allowing some through, however.

This mess has not even gotten a good start yet...
