Loreto Hotel Reccomendations

NIFTSIX - 1-19-2017 at 06:07 PM

Will be traveling through Loreto next month and plan to stop here for a quick nights rest... Looking for a Hotel Recommendation if anybody has one. Have stayed previously at the Hotel Plaza and enjoyed it very much, but things seem to booking up so I'm hoping to pick up a couple other options. Thanks in advance! Any other tips or recs are much appreciated!

Desert Inn (La Pinta back in the day) is pricey but has large comfy rooms, ample secure parking, and a pool. Restaurant is ok for breakfast. Longish walk into town

Martîns near El Rey Del Taco is cheap and has secure parking. Rooms are dark but very clean. Walk anywhere.

What is your price range and I can make some recommendations?

JZ - 1-19-2017 at 07:19 PM

La Misson. You can get it for $75 on either Hotels.com or maybe Hotwire. It's the best hotel in Loreto by a pretty wide margin.

What JZ says! very nice well worth the money.

el dorado one block back from the malecon, short walk back from augies!

BigBearRider - 1-19-2017 at 09:11 PM

$75 for La Mision is a steal. Is that for an ocean view room?

tripledigitken - 1-19-2017 at 10:28 PM

Iquana Inn, 3 blocks off Malecon. We liked it very much. Last time I checked $45-$55 double bungelow inc. Kitchenette.

Hotel angra,

super clean with fantastic hands on owners. the rate is still the same 670 pesos per night per room (1 or 2 people), tax included, a light breakfast included, and we are a pet friendly place. Spacious rooms, spacious and secure parking lot, cable tv, air conditioning, wifi. www.hotelangra.com , Ana Carranza Tel. (613) 1351172

Stayed here one night last year and it was great. Good people and great location.

First choice though has always been Coco Cabanas.

I seriously question that one can get a room at the La Mission Hotel in the $75 range. It will be more like $130-$160.
IF you can get a room there for under $100, go for it as it is a 1st class hotel on the Malecon and walking to almost everything. Also, a great Happy Hour.

Good luck.

La Mision "special" on hotel.com has a price of 3228 pesos, so do the math.
Far cry from $ 75.00

half day rate?

willyAirstream - 1-20-2017 at 12:32 PM

second vote for Hotel Angra . You do have to walk a bit to get to major restaurants, but plenty of good taco stands close by.

salttram - 1-20-2017 at 04:29 PM

The Inn & Suites just past the traffic circle (going east) is comfy, comes with a decent breakfast, and some English language TV . . . and everything works. It's closer to something you'd find north of the border and has very little Baja charm, but it's nice. And with the exchange rate, we paid around $48 last month. It's a bit out of downtown, so it's quiet, and next door to the El Nido restaurant.

Coco Cabanas.

We stayed there in 2009 and liked it, but it was very 50s road inn style, with a great pool!

Closure was bogus information. Stayed there last month. Still has great pools. 5 minute walk to the Square and Cathedral.

Thanks for the update, good news Lee!

Just watch it. Book at the right time. Also Hotwire. I've got it several times for that.

Thanks everybody for the recommendations..... I ended up booking something at the Hotel Plaza. Mainly because of location and I stayed there on a moto trip last year and the hospitality of the staff & manager really went the extra mile. I'll post back and let everyone how it is.

How much was a room there? I thought their lobby was nice.

Hotel Juniperro across the street had a sign out, starting at under $25 US.
Hostal Casas Loreto seemed pretty decent too, and cheap. I just can't remember the price.

950 pesos for a triple queen room. I thought that was pretty reasonable.
