One Night Truck and Boat Parking in San Felipe

tahoebajaman1 - 1-31-2017 at 04:25 PM

I am driving to Mulege and need a good place to park my truck and my boat for a night in San Felipe. The truck has a shell on it, full of fishing stuff etc. hopefully with a motel attached to the parking. With a priority on safe parking, the motel, not as important. I really don't want to drag a thousand pounds of gear into my motel room for the night. All input welcome.

Los Angelos hotel. 3 story green building about a mile past the last pemex leaving town. Secure courtyard with a night watchman. 35 bucks for a double. Nice place. No bar or restaurant.

Thank You! That is exactly the info I was looking for. I assume out of town going south?

Anyone else have a good spot?

I agree with Sky Blue. That's where I always stay and have never had a problem. My Suburban is always packed to the gills. It's about 5 miles north of town on the west side of the highway. There is an old hotel that is closed with the same name a little south of it so don't let that confuse you. Rooms are 500 pesos. Good luck!

Yes, southbound.

San Borja is a brand new hotel right on the street opposite Kiki's. It's owned by the same owner. It's very nice, and they have a locked gate for the large court yard and an alarm system they can turn on at night. Go to the front desk at Kiki's to get a room.

On my way north at the end of December, I broke down about a half mile before the roundabout where Mex 5 heads south. I was right across the street from the Oasis Market, and the owner (fluent in English) helped me line up a mechanic.

While having some fresh brewed coffee and pastry and waiting for the repairs to finish up, he showed me a rental that he had behind the store.

It is a clean one bedroom casita with bath, and a wood stove in the living area. There is a large gated yard that would handle your boat and truck, and you would be the only tenants. I was surprised that it was available by the day or week instead of just monthly.

I know that this is unusual, but I would stay there if I was passing through S.F. dragging toys with me. If nothing else, stop in and have coffee with Enrique (Henry) and take a look. I have his contact info if you are interested.
