Yup, it was cold last week. And windy! We took the same route - and did the dirt road in the rain.
Did you happen to see a red kayak by the road?
Somewhere between Gonzaga and Scammon's it disappeared.
Maybe it worked loose on the dirt road and blew off when we gained speed on Hwy 1. Or maybe it "floated" off the top of the camper when we were out
for a hike. Hard to say. We were camped at Scammon's and returned from a hike down the beach to find it missing with the tie down straps just sitting
on the roof.
We can't say for sure that it didn't blow off earlier, it was just that the straps were on the roof still with nothing to hold them in place and we
can't imagine they would have stayed there very long. No sign of anyone nearby.
Not a valuable kayak, just annoying. Good thing it was too windy and cold all week to miss it.
