I've heard of a development going in San Filipe, Baja which is being done by an American developer. It is supposed to have a golf course, 5 star
hotel, etc. Does anyone know if this is for real of another pipe dream?
Golf Course--San Felipe

YES! There is a golf course presently under constrution in San Felipe. Pat Butlerof Eldorado is the developer. It is supposed to be ready for use this
coming season. The 5-Star hotel will be sometime down the road I do think? It's taken longer already for the golf course than first thought! Check out
Eldorado Ranch web site for more!

As I attended a meeting at Eldorado at 3p.m. today I do not belive this rumor you are hearing is true! He (PatButler) is getting ready to collect
lotsa $$ from the residents here right now so don't think he has run off!! Also his attorney was at the meeting today to verify that the Ejhido has
been paid but a small group has chosen not to accept the payment. Much much More with all of this thing going on just now!
El Dorado Golf Course

I just looked at the "grass" on El Dorado's golf course again this afternoon and I think the
prospective golfers are going to grow old waiting for it. It seems to be growing at the
rate of 1mm per month, if that.
Of course, "Javier" may give it a temporary shot of real water if it doesn't wash it all away.

If you just look at the grass around the pond by Hghy 5, it doesn't look like it'll ever grow, but I was surprised when I drove to the Beach Club that
the greens? farther in look really good. Of course Javier might blow them all away also.

I admit that I haven't actually driven down into El Dorado for some time
now so I base my assessment on the area visible from the highway.
Assuming there is eventually sufficient growth, given the fragile nature,
how well would it stand up to usage ?
I have no interest one way or another. I gave up golf many years ago, but
it seems they have a difficult task.
As said earlier, Javier could change the whole area in a short period of
time. Assuming he continues his forecast course, I'll be down the highway
as soon as it's open next week.

I just drove down to "take a look" at what's changed in my 6 week absince. I never have played golf anyway so it matters not to me. Talking to a
friend who works part time for ElDorado, he says Pat has the frnachise for this grass for all of Mexico and they have a lot of interest in it for
other parts of the country. Don't understand any of it but unless it gets washed away with Javier, they figure it's going to be a good deal. Have
been mowing some of the areas. Who know's what'll be hapening next??
