New years in Mulege

Wanting to spend the week after Christmas in and near Mulege. Curious about weather, fishing and crowds that time of year. Saw Shari's post awhile back from their trip around Christmas and looks great. Probably staying in town a couple days and then by the beach for awhile. Thanks for the time.

Do it, great that time of year. Might want to be a little careful selecting campsites as the N wind can blow everyone back into town. People seem to be in a good mood during the holidays.

Stock up on supplies just for a few days in advance; don't expect too many people or things to be moving at all on New Year's Day.... however, one of the best places to spend Amateur Night, town or beach. Also if you have pets who don't like fireworks (like me) have a spot for 'em to hide, depending on your location and surroundings.

Weather can be cold or perfect, so load for bear. Fishing is always fabulous, but the catching is usually slow end of December. Crowds? No more than usual, not as bad as Semana Santa. A terrible cold windy day there is better than a good day anywhere else IMO. Have a good trip.
