I live across an arroyo from a pretty popular ojo de agua. Because of the ambiance of the springs, it is quite a popular place to party, swim, get
drinking water, picnic, etc..
It is really popular on weekends and I can be assured of some ranchera and other really good music coming from the springs area on Friday and
Saturday nights.
In Los Barriles, karaoke seems to be very popular for the night life in the gringo establishments, probably because there isn't anything else to do.
I personally have never been fond of karaoke but keep meaning to come down to check it out just for a change.
Last night was one of those nights and I was planning on making the trip and having some dinner and karaoke.
Until, some trucks pulled into the arroyo. They had a really good stereo and were playing some great music and drinking tequila. When the tequila
started kicking in, so did the singing.
Now, I have heard karaoke before in bars up north and it can be fun but generally not exactly artists doing the singing.
The singing and music coming from the arroyo was so fun and enjoyable to listen to that again, I have missed a chance to hear the karaoke artists of
Los Barriles and ate burritos at home. Better!

JR--- I just happened to in Buzzard`s Bay several weeks ago when they had the Karaoke going and it was a kick. Some male hating loca started things
off-- hey I give her a TON of credit--- no music, no words on some monitor, she just sang by herself and never skipped a beat or forgot a word. And
that was with some heckler (me) in the crowd!!! I was with a bunch from Bend Or. but "Barbara Ann" wasn`t on the playlist so had an excuse not to
sing!!
Did score big though!!! Won 750 pesos in a football poll. AHHHHHH.......... a great night!!
