My US phone plan doesn't do any roaming, so I need to get a prepaid SIM for the week i'll be in the Cabo area. Anyone have any experience buying a
SIM and loading it up, what's the best service, cost, etc? Mostly want it for the data while out and about, but also texting, calling the kids, etc.
I was planning on getting a Mexican service provider SIM on Amazon and then just activating it and loading it with whatever plan is cheapest, but
thought I'd check with the experts first.

If your phone is not locked down, I'd recommend getting a SIM card from Mexico Sim Card - you can also purchase from them on Amazon. Good people, responsive customer service.

Yeah, huge thumbs up for Vincent and Mexico SIM Card. We've bought his stuff for five years and it's worked flawlessly every time.
You can reload his cards through the TelCel site; but I've found it much easier and not much more expensive to do the recharges through him. I think
he processes the recharges manually, which makes his couple-minute turnaround time at 3am even more impressive.

BUT as noted above, your phone must be unlocked to use SIMs from carriers other than your own. My particular Verizon is, but other models on Verizon
aren't. Not much a SIM vendor can do to help you if that's the case.
