Sorry about the quality of this photo but is is a long shot very close to Mulege at the south end of Bahia Santa Inez

Must say something about the fishery though, there's only one.... so far.

Same boat from a couple weeks ago? :/

Russ - 3-30-2017 at 10:47 AM

Not the same one but just now 3 more are heading towards Mulege. Dam it!

The nearest one has a made couple circles like he's going to make a set right in front of us.

He has moved on towards Mulege now at the south ed of the Bahia. All 4 seem to be making sets now at the end of the bay.

Anyone wanting to help if you are in the area in your boat please add your photos. We have a Spanish speaker here that is trying to get contact info for agencies and politicos that may have some influence .... She may be including this post in her communications.

Time to make fishing reefs out of those boats

I think its legal..The ones I filmed had a Gummint inspector on board...We talked to him for quite a while...That was 7-8 years ago...

Number 5 just passed by Isla Santa Inez in the back ground. (Lighthouse over the cabin)

This is REALLY sick!

chuckie, Unfortunately you may be right. Depending how close they are the Bahia Concepcion. I can't see those boats fishing illegally. That's just a huge financial risk or they are paying off someone not to bothered.

Sad but true...We queried the gummint guy about them keeping the big groupers that were in the nets, and he said that was OK. H e read us a list of species that were acceptable as marketable, non sport.....They did make quite a big deal out of using hoses to keep the gulls from being caught in the nets...
