After a couple of years looking for a 2011 Tacoma TRD Offroad I finally found a TRD Sport that I bought in Todos Santos. Now I'm wondering, what's
the difference between the two models beyond the trim? I like the 17" wheels on the Sport model and think that may actually be a plus. Do people use
the power ascent and decent features on the Offroad very much? What else am I missing to do David K type 4x4 ing? Thanks....

OMG... it is like night and day.
You should have asked first... lol!
There are huge threads on Tacoma World about the differences.
In a nutshell:
Both are great trucks because they are Toyotas, but...
The SPORT TRD is an appearance package mostly and you are paying for color matched trim (mirrors, bumpers) and a fake hood scoop to give it that Sport
image. The suspension is tuned for street use, it has harder to find in Mexico, 17" tires.
The OFF ROAD TRD is a traction package (and for about the same price as a Sport) that includes a locking rear differential, the A-TRAC four-wheel
drive system that 'auto-locks' all four tires that might spin, thus delivering the power to the traction tires. It makes the truck crawl and climb
like a tank. Even if just one tire is on solid ground, the A-TRAC will pull you ahead. The Off Road also has the more common 16" tires, a solid hood,
a chrome bumper, and Bilstein off-road tuned shocks.
