Hi all - I recently stumbled on this little gold mine of a forum while researching a trip down to Baja next winter.

I had a short trip to La Paz last winter and have been itching to see more of Baja ever since.

I currently live in Chicago, and in 16 weeks (but who's counting?!) I am taking a career break - putting my stuff in storage and hitting the road with my Airedale. After spending the fall in the SouthWest, I'm hoping to head down Baja and hang out for a few months this winter.

Looking forward to reading up on everything until it's time to hit the road.

Cool stuff on your blog.

As a suggestion ( discount it or not ) since you will be in Baja during the winter you may want to consider taking a ferry over to the mainland, too, to do some exploring.

Winter is the best weather over here and, for a Chicagoan, the ocean will be toasty warm.

You'll get the best of both worlds.

Saludos

Thanks!

The thought has crossed my mind - just have to get over nerves about driving solo as a female...I do love the mainland as well, though!

welcome! be sure to visit the smaller villages along the Pacific - BAHIA ASUNION (look for Shari) and LA BOCANA (where we are)!

The new Moon Baja Guide mentions (by name and business) Blanca and Les [La Bocana], as well as Shari and Juan [Bahía Asunción]!

Thanks, Marc - Copper Canyon is someplace I really want to visit. I'll be traveling with a dog, so I'll have to account for that, but I appreciate the ideas!
