hurricane hunter

pappy - 2-13-2005 at 10:11 PM

two winters ago a crew of yungin's pulled into camp in their mega-dollar 4x4 dubbed hurricane hunter.they are sponsored by, among others oakley glasses, and yes, they are surfers.within an hour of their arrival i was wanting to go speak with them about respect-for baja, the land, people and those camped there but was coaxed out of it from a memebr of my camp(for rasons i wont tell here.when they left i checked their site-trash was all they left behind, and plenty of it.tonight a friend called to tell me these very same "brats" were featured on fuel ttelevision, among many offensivew acts they were filmed putting a chain around a healthy agave and yanking it out with their mega truck, then doing some other things with it claiming how spiritual it was.if any of you run into them clue 'em in.next time i see them i will.

Thats our youth for ya........... pathetic.

That may be the youth you know and interact with, certainly not the youth that I interact with, enjoy and spend as much time as possible mentoring. These folks that you reference are trash and age has zip to do with it!

That's why I hate other surfers also....

Most of the surfers I have come across here in Baja are vary good people and have a grate respect for Baja. just because you see a bad bunch doesn't mean they are all that way. it seams to me there is a Munch higher percentage of Motor home campers causing problems. but most are fine people.

Wow Baja is so large and desolate rich little punks (regardless of their sport) can get away with murder....

NOT!!!!!

The putos name is Brian Wayne Conley

He lives in Solana Beach.

His parents Don & Cindy Conley live in Rancho Snate Fe.

I'd suggest that the next time somebody he him pulling up Agavies that they have him arrested.

Daddy is a land developer and would probably pay big money to keep his his little boy from being a prison bit*h!

I think his truck could come in handy for the Punta Prieta Guardia.

Reciently I was at "un-named" surf spot
in an "un-named" part of Baja...

It was about 6:30 Pm and the "4-runnered" out Ford truck with a stack of boards comes FLYING into camp, slams on the brakes (cloud of dust), scans the scene, then guns his truck (more dust) up the hill to the northern coves.

Myself and a couple the "long timers" were peeed that for runner dude would have so little concern about the kids, dogs, and drunks that could have easly been in his path.

A few days later I was chatting with one of the ranchers (who was blocking the out with truck) when the kid comes flying up and looks annoyed that his path was impeeded. I walked over to his truck and calmly said

"your flying into camp the other nite was completely disrespectful."

His reply was "Fu*k man I wasn't going THAT fast."

At that point verbally ripped his head off and stuffed down his neck while his frat boy buddy gasped in shock.

after promiseing to act like a grown ups around at least that "un-named" camp...
Jorge moved his truck and the brat SLOWLY drove out.

It seems to me that there is a growning number of angst fill young guys heading south and expecting that if it is tollerated back in So Cal... That it SURLY will be tollerated in an "un-named" part of Baja.

In my book that type of behavior IS NOT tollerated!

Have I ever mentioned

P-nche gringos before?:lol::lol::lol:

And living here and traveling here all the time, I see it all the time as well. I dont pretend to know about these P-nches because I vacation here every so often. I see this crap all the time and know of what I speak whether tourists want to argue about it or not!

pappy,

This the offending vehicle?

Mexitron - 2-14-2005 at 08:21 PM

I hear you Grover--it is inevitable....most of my experiences with other surfers have been friendly as well. Just can't help whining...once that area goes....well, Patagonia is looking good!

pappy - 2-14-2005 at 09:20 PM

from what i can see that's it(or one very similar)camper shell that folds out into a tent, with ladder gioing up to it,etc.a vehicle with all the gizmos and gadgets for sure(which is fine, but tread lightly)hopefully they will come to appreciate what they have and waht baja has to offer and temper their attitudes and actions a bit.perhaps this thread will be a positive message to them via the boojum express)
