What have you heard? Will the new Pemex have diesel? Any anticipated opening date?
Diesel in BOLA

Doc Velasquez told me the thought they would but it is taking forever to get the station up and running. I'm praying for diesel also.

Free Enterprise is alive and well in Bahia de los Angeles... When Pemex pulled out of there, local vendors took over.
Alfredo Diaz sells gas AND diesel now and before.
This has been true at the Hwy. 1 jcn. and Catavi?a as well. For an income of about a dollar per gallon, these people drive 150 or more miles (round
trip) to bring you gas where you want to buy it!
and you get an honest measure

5 gallons from a full jerry can is 5 gallons
no need to make sure the pump was reset back to $0.00.

I guess we sound.....

....like we just fell off the turnip truck, huh, BTDB?
I, for one, will not pay for the privilege and inconvenience of filling a 130 gallon boat in five gallon increments. Choosing not to is also part of
free enterprise.
I'm trying to determine if I can forego the usual fillup of the boat at El Rosario and not haul all that weight down to BOLA.
I thought my post was directed to BOLA locals.........

I am sorry Hook, but you didn't say if it was for boat fueling... my responce was for any others who are led to believe if Pemex isn't there, then no
gas is there.
Anyway, Paulina already answered your question on another thread... the answer is YES, the new station will offer Diesel. When will it be open is
according to Mexican time! Manana doesn't mean 'tomorrow'. it just means 'not today'!

No, the Pemex station is not ready...even so they say it supposed to open any day now, there is still a bulldozer out front, plaster & cement work
still being done, etc...still looks like a work in progress to me.
Today was not a good "photo" day; over cast and no sun. If it's nicer tomorrow, I'll go take a picture so you can check it out.
Don't know if this is true or going to happen, but a little bird told me someone else in town wants to open a Pemex too, and is trying to get the
permits or has them already, so there might be TWO gas stations here eventually?! hmmmmmm.....!
One other note...I bought what I thought was 5 gallons up at the turnoff the other day. Well, it wasn't; I done got shorted! They use old jeep cans
up there, and not the clear-style dump cans that Alfredo Diaz uses. You can't see how much is in there, unless you walk over to the jug and look
down in it. So just to give you all a heads-up.
I was pretty bent when I realized what happened, and I'll let the guy know next time I'm up that way.
thanks, Bahia

sorry for the confusion, David.
Would love to see some pics AND some competition. Surely, if there are two stations, one of them is gonna carry diesel. Any mexican navy vessel of any
size will need it.
The Diaz method is just so damn slow. First he pours it into the 5 gallon container....then he pours that into your truck. In the meantime, it's 100
degrees and the whole place reeks of (surprise) diesel.
I've got a strong stomach but that tested it.
