Filmed White Shark in front of my house

gonetobaja - 6-3-2017 at 11:38 AM

I've been a diver and a guide for a long time. I've done many dives with white sharks but this was different. I now realize that the past 20 years I have been swimming with these guys in front of my house. It's quite shocking to really grasp it. As you will tell by my language I was having trouble grasping that the stranded pilot whale I had ran down to the beach to save was actually a 15 ft white shark.

WARNING: BAD LANGUAGE NOT FOR KIDS

Call in the Orcas. They enjoy white shark livers. There have been recent reports they have run the great whites away from the Farallon Isjands after attacks off of San Francisco, and now off of South Africa also.

We need those monsters alive to keep the fish pyramid in line! Too bad it was hit by a propeller. I didn't realize they are actually gray?

in Australia they're known as "the men in grey suits"

BigBearRider - 6-3-2017 at 05:11 PM

Where was that?

gonetobaja - 6-3-2017 at 07:05 PM

This was just north of Puertecitos. It was dark grey almost black. From a distance I thought it was a pilot whale

Wow. Did you get to pet the shark?

I couldn't watch the video in the US without logging in. Just arrived in Sweden, where no login was required.

gonetobaja - 6-4-2017 at 09:14 AM

No way I didn't touch it.

Laughing so hard at the local guy from shore yelling "grab it, bring it here".

willardguy - 6-5-2017 at 10:10 AM

so how does this story end, what became of the injured shark?

gonetobaja - 6-5-2017 at 05:21 PM

He ended up swimming back out and hanging around for. Couple days then I had to come home.

gueribo - 6-6-2017 at 04:17 PM

Don't know about SA remarks, Lancair.
Went down to SA last year and got in the cage to view the White Sharks....

They were everywhere in all shapes and sizes

The biggest we encountered was a 16' Female

Unnerving to see them within a couple feet of your face!

EnsenadaDr - 12-5-2017 at 08:25 AM

Don't ever get that close to a shark, at least I wouldn't.

vandenberg - 12-5-2017 at 08:39 AM

They have favorite hangouts, like Northern Ca.,South Africa, Australia, but they are essentially every where.

It's safe if you turn them upside down and tickle their belly.
