A couple weeks ago, this serpent was in our front yard. When I got up closer to take photos, it stayed dead still and did not move for at least 15
minutes!
It is still out there somewhere and I wondered if anyone knows what it is?
The head was brown and really looked like a branch. Amazing camouflage.

the snake in our garden was quite yellow along the body -perhaps because it was obviously a baby
There is a previous post by Tehag with a HUGE coachwhip in Loreto. He said it was 15 foot long and it sure seems it.TMW - 6-17-2017 at 01:54 PM
I think I would stay away from any snake 15 foot long.JZ - 6-17-2017 at 03:14 PM
Kill it. Kill all snakes. Barry A. - 6-17-2017 at 03:25 PM
"Kill it"???? Snakes keep rodents down and can be very beneficial to have around. Very few are dangerous, and none mean you any harm unless you are
aggressive. I think you might want to rethink that statement, if you are serious. LOLBajaGlenn - 6-17-2017 at 03:31 PM
Good snake!! Ever since the bible came out snakes got a bad name--they have no germs till you touch them BTW!!

The info that DK attached listed the size at 59 inches, which I will bet is probably about two feet longer than the average size coachwhip.mtgoat666 - 6-17-2017 at 04:10 PM
... And Little Jizzy has the audacity to condescend others. Sad. tehag - 6-17-2017 at 04:55 PM
That is definitely a Baja Coachwhip. If I ever said they attain 15 feet of length, I apologize. That is incorrect by about 9 feet. I have seen 6
footers, but not longer.BajaBlanca - 6-18-2017 at 06:06 AM
tehag - you were looking at a photo you took of a coachwhip and it really looked so very loooooooooooooooong. monoloco - 6-19-2017 at 08:29 PM
They are also great climbers and will eat birds out of the nest.BajaBlanca - 6-20-2017 at 08:04 AM
this Coachwhip must still be around our yard - perhaps they are territorial? There is a long groove crossing our sandy driveway.woody with a view - 6-20-2017 at 08:48 AM
Rake it before bed and you'll know who visits during the night!David K - 6-20-2017 at 09:13 AM
In my next (Day 6) trip report posting, I have a photo of a snake track, near Guerrero Negro.
