In early June, we drove from the Pacific thru La Purisima and San Isidro to Hwy 1 near El Rosarito. We were driving a 2010 XTerra OffRoad. At both
Purisima and San Isidro, we were advised to go back to the coast and take a more southerly route. We asked if the road were malo, or
imposible., and were told muy malo.
The road was extremely rough, rocky and, in places, severe washboard. It took nearly 4 hours from La Purisima to Hwy 1. But very scenic.

That's how it was for me, 3 months ago, as well. So, no grading this year. It's a shame because that's a great short cut route. Thanks for the report,
Norm!

I remember when my wife and I went on that road from Hwy 1 to La Purisima in 1989 and it had rained and there were sections that I was not sure I was
going to get thru the mud. I pulled one rancher out along the way. There is a narrow section where the side of the road drops off for maybe a 100 plus
feet and it scared my wife to where she would not look at it. The road from La Purisima south was not paved in 1989 but the next year it was,
surprise, surprise. The following year it was pot holes.
