We are in Santa Barbara and went to the botanical garden. A very simple yet old garden - I found out that mission Indians had built a view lookout.
I never saw any dam.
I never saw running water, just a small pond further downstream.

interesting that there are no spaces in between the photos.
I loaded them as attachments as they do not show when I insert BBC link.
But I got photos to load

The Old Mission Church and Seminary is close by. We used to play frisbee on the lawn across the road. The Botanical gardens and whole area was/is
very wooded and beautiful. The Indians prospered in the area many years before the Spanish arrived. I graduated from UC Santa Barbara in 1971. Late
Sixties and Love was in the air! Peace. Tio

The 31st California mission (10th in Alta California), founded in 1786. Santa Barbara is the only mission continually operated by the Franciscans
since its founding.
