Fishing Report, San Nicolas, BCS

Just have a quick moment, but can tell all that fishing off Isla San Ildifonso, and Punta Pulpito has been spotty at best. Too much food in the ocean, both little squid and sardinas. The occasional panga is getting a couple hundred kilos of Jurel, but other days everyone gets skunked.

Boats are coming up from Loreto, so thinks can not be much better down there.

The fish are big when found, and if you can find a boil, they will take squid imitations and some iron. We have come back EMPTY twice, and yesterday trolling on the west side of the island, we missed the rising wind for ten minutes, and had a fine grade of boat ride in our 16 footer quartering down wind to our welcome little playa!!! The locals are stumped, and to eat, those who dive are getting up close and personal and sticking them!!

We had thirtysix steady hours of rain last week, and the desert is clean and green.

For those who know San Nicolas, everyone is doing OK. The lack of rain has left everyone, two and four legs, a little hungry. Fernando Murillo seems to be just getting by. Alfredo Bastida is looking health, he is active, and as always, SMILING.

Our best to all, Perry and Cathy

Is the winter "fish camp" for tourists doing OK?
How is the access road?
