Racing in Baja or anywhere in the desert is not for wimps, be prepared or suffer.

Family prepares for race, race starts, car breaks down, end of story.

B O R I N G compared to JZ's vids.

Don't bother.

I'm going to be in BCS for two weeks prior and during the Baja 1000 - I am really looking forward to it.

That said, to borrow a line from Dust to Glory, the race always seems a lot more fun a week or two after returning home. From a support guy-perspective, it's long days often involving sleep deprivation, hunger, and wallowing in dirt. But for whatever reason, we return.

You sound like Steinbeck on needing to return.

It's like fishing when you go out and the water is rougher than snot, you don't catch and wonder why you do it and then do it over and over again.

Let's face it - we're all lemmings. We just have different cliffs to jump off.
