CD...Linda Ronstadt "Canciones de mi Padre"...over and over again...very loud!!
It just brings me back...lifts my spirits!!

We were in Todos Santos, sitting in the outdoor corner restaurant with the peac-cks in back listening to Gloria's new cd two years ago today. Loving

Want to try something truly Mexican, deep dark ,and very profound, i suggest you get a CD of Chabela Vargas, you wont regret it.

Right on. I've got this album. I bought it after seeing "Frida", where the tribute to Vargas was performed by the singing of "La Llorona".
Marco Antonio Solis is recommended. His orchestration ranks with the best. No one should be without at least one album of Javier Solis, one of
Mexico's musical giants of the twentieth century.
Rocio Durcal, though Spanish, sang many Mexican standards, once I started, I couldn't stop buying her albums.
These don't even begin a good Mexican list, however.

Los Lobos Greatest Hits has lots of great music on it. Their version of Sabor A Mi is our favorite.

Right on the nail Jefe, thats old time Baja music at its best, me and my mom used to take the bus down every year from Tijuana to Insurgentes to visit
my grandparents, and i remember the bus drivers would always put los Panchos music right at sunrise, that memory of sunrise while driving past Mulege
at 5:00am and seeing all the people sleeping in the roofs while hearing Los Panchos is imbeeded deep in my mind.
