While doing more research about our upcoming trip to Todos Santos, I came across a site that indicated it was necessary for American travelers to purchase if driving into Mexico. Please share information and advice.

Oh, and get your FMM at Mexican Immigration (INM) when you cross the border

Get HDI Seguros, full coverage. You will be glad you have it if anything happens

While a passport is necessary to get the FMM, that is the only place in Baja that I have ever been asked to present one.
I also have never been asked for the FMM anywhere, but I sure don't want to roll the dice on where and when it will be absolutely needed!
