In October 1972, the pavement south of Ensenada was between Colonia Guerrero and San Quintin and the pavement north from La Paz was between Santa
Rosalia and San Ignacio.
Looks like an off-road racer, maybe pre-running the 1000 (which was in November). That year, it started in Mexicali (first time) then crossed over to
the Pacific via Valle de Trinidad or Mike's Sky Rancho (racer's option) and back on the original route of the previous years. A chubasco destroyed the

My Son still has a Baja-Bug like that one, tricked out for racing tho he never did that. It's a wonderful little vehicle, but really noisy and very
dusty inside! He runs around the Eastern Sierra/Owens Valley/Death Valley in it. LOL
