A couple reports within the last 2 weeks, not here, Truck w/ 5 th wheel, crossing Tecate going so., no TIP permit required, a couple MH, one
towing toad, no TIP, TJ. That's just what I've read, but there
has been info to the contrary

crossed at San Luis this morning with trailer loaded wrangler, nothing but registration needed on both, although goofy little punkin had me get up
in the wrangler and start it for some reason... guess didn't want a dead wrangler coming in...
something a little different each time we cross in... keeps ya on your toes.... fruitmule - 10-28-2017 at 04:29 PM

Just to update you on our crossing with enclosed trailer....smooth as silk...Did not ask for any papers....Opened ramp door and glanced inside, saw it
was full and closed the door....jamesthomsen - 12-26-2017 at 07:21 PM
Any update? Discover Baja site still says RV permits now required, but other sites say they are not required for Baja.

"Mexico" is a big place, so let's narrow this down to Baja only.
Trailers other than RV don't require TIP in Baja. Motorhomes, travel trailers and 5-wheels are considered RV. I'm 99% positive that toyhaulers
are RV too. Enclosed or open cargo trailer is not an RV.
RV require 10-year TIP. This is not new or "now", it's been in effect for years. But in Baja they only enforce this for motorhomes - not just any RV,
and on Baja crossings they don't enforce it too rigorously for motohomes either.
