One of the things that always has left me in awe are the irrigation projects built by the padres of Baja, many of which are still functioning today.
The engineering, production of materials and actual construction of the dams and rock lined ditches is a thing of beauty that has survived for two and
three hundred years.

While not directly built by the Padres, this canal goes from a mission dam and pila to a farm that has mission-era construction... very impressive.

There is some nice aqueducts and dams behind Miraflores but I suspect the are more recent than padre days. Also a nice section along hiway one between

A great walk in san Ignacio is from town to go North along the irrigation ditches for a mile or so, then climb up the Mesa and return to town across
the Mesa. The walk along the ditches takes you through the edge of the palm groves, and you can marvel at the ditches, the bank of which make a great
walking path StuckSucks - 10-31-2017 at 10:11 AM

Sounds like an awesome walk with killer views from the Mesa. Might be able to pull it off in a few weeks.gueribo - 10-31-2017 at 10:19 AM
