This is a little early, but I will throw it out there.
Possibly driving to Mulege starting on Dec. 28, 2017. Our vehicle is pretty full but checking to see if anyone else is driving down that we can
follow or follow us...as the date gets closer we can get more details.

Still planning stage..but would leave San Diego area on Dec. 28th..first night Catavina and then on to Mulege the next day. Returning North on the
3rd or 4th of January.

It is very cold in Cataviña in winter, high altitude desert, if camping. Being a holiday week means hotel could be full. Just fyi.
