Nov. 10/17 Road Report

windgrrl - 11-13-2017 at 08:17 AM

Crossed at Tecate, down the Valle de Guadeloupe to Ensenada. Easy, no hassle trip to East Cape, except for potholes - worst between Catavina to GN. A bit of road repair around Bay of Concepcion and north of La Paz.

Good to hear the road is still there

There's a handful of miles of new, silky-smooth pavement to the north of the Bay of LA turn off.

A little bit of dirt and construction north of La Paz.

Nice, as that was the worst area (El Crucero to Parador Punta Prieta) of all the highways I traveled in 2017 (except half of the Punta Abreojos highway, last June).

Don't get too excited, it's literally a handful of miles. As in one hand, still plenty of potholes to dodge on the rest of the stretch.

Correct, it is 21 kms. between those two points (12.4 miles). As I said, that was the worst on Hwy. 1... there were a few more holes on north to Chapala and Santa Ynez, etc. It is what it is, just drive slower so you can dodge them or not damage stuff if you hit them.
