IMPORTANT TECHNICAL UPDATE
February 22, 2005
GTP9 All pit services must be done while race vehicle is at a complete stop. Vehicle may not be serviced while in motion, ether under it?s own power, while being towed, and/or being transported in or on a trailer. Pit services are to include fueling, tire changes, and/or any other services preformed on the race vehicle.

That means no more refueling on the hwy. Everyone should have seen this coming.

Yes, SCORE worded that well, and makes it fair for all competitors. However, big kuddos for creative thinking on the racer who came up with the mid-race refueling, like a fighter jet getting mid-air refueling!

i think that sucks....time for a poll...

Trophys are kind of an "unlimited" class as far as i am corncerned, let those with the moxie to be innovative have the edge dammit until others do it and a new edge is needed, it ain't about the money either, you have to have a TON of it or don't even try to dance in the TT world.

so, here goes a poll (in a new thread i guess)

Capt. Mike,
What got your shorts all twisted??
You can't even re-fuel your plane in flight. Why should million dollar TT trucks be allowed to do it??

Corky

While I personally don't have a problem with on hwy refueling, I think Score is/was worried what the Mexican officals would think. The enviromentalist would have a fit over splilled fuel on the hwy (if any) and one could imagine what would be said if an accident occured, especially involving a local.

I heard that Sal and some of his people in La Paz wanted to DQ the winning team for doing it but decided to let it be and make sure it didn't happen again and this is the results.

yes, yes they have to make a biz decision on

risk. but i got to tell you, go back thru the annals of historical racing and "engine driven" concepts for winning and you'll be amazed, success was often a result of outside the box thinking and innovation....people and the ilk who insist on excessive rules making and control will continue to be the bane of those who really value freedom and individualism!!
