Nice to see Sal Fish in all the ceremonies today!

Bike 45X is already at El Arco at 9 am! Trophy Trucks start in less than an hour!

Wish it all worked a little better.

David K - 11-16-2017 at 11:28 AM

Hi Ed, I have had the Live feed from Ensenada on since 9 am, and not one interruption. The final Trophy Truck is about to start.

Also, on another window, I have the live tracking map and set to refresh every 60 seconds.

ehall - 11-16-2017 at 11:31 AM

Nice. I haven't gotten live feed since contingency. Tracker is working except for a few bikes.

David K - 11-16-2017 at 11:40 AM

Direct Link from starting line, Class 1 cars starting now... https://livestream.com/SCORE/events/7928748

ehall - 11-16-2017 at 01:07 PM

That link worked perfectly. Thanks

blackwolfmt - 11-16-2017 at 01:31 PM

didn't take long for Robby to hit a bump in the road

David K - 11-16-2017 at 02:49 PM

At 1:44 pm, the final racer has left the starting line!

The lead bike is east of La Purísima (45x)
The lead Trophy Truck (Rob MacCachren) is nearing the sulfur mine, south of San Felipe (11).

Update, Andy McMillan (31) is ahead of MacCachren at the sulfur mine.

Update, MacCachren (11) is back in the lead heading to Puertecitos!

Both good and bad news for COPS Racing. The Class 1 (#150) and TT (#50) were DNF.

The Trophy Spec finished first in class. I was at the BFG pit at RM749 when Steve Hengeveld arrived in the COPS #250 driving from El Crucero to Loreto -- he was 20 minutes in front of the #2 TT Spec guy. John Langley maintained the lead from Loreto to La Paz for the win.

Congrats Jim!
What is the difference between Trophy Truck Spec and the typical Trophy Truck?

willardguy - 11-17-2017 at 04:32 PM

Fishgistics is reporting they hit the 1x bike with a half hour penalty for sending a couple finish line spectators to the hospital, giving the win to 45x......anyone got the scoop on this?

There is a video on rdz of his bike flying off the podium without him on it. Not clear what happened.

David K - 11-17-2017 at 05:29 PM

He came in HOT... fell off the bike as it crossed the line, the bike continued ahead and the rider also rolled on ahead. People jumped out of the way, but I don't hear anyone being hurt and the SCORE announcer praised the way he finished.

Yes, there was no need for that showboating, but you get to feel the excitement he was under at that moment.

Thanks! Just back from a celebratory dinner at Stellas in La Paz.

Bottom line: Trophy Truck class allows any the modification to engine, suspension, etc., -- you are only limited by your checkbook. Trophy Truck Spec has limitations on the engine and drive train. Both have to *look* like a production truck.

The overview of the two classes from SCORE:

Trophy Truck Spec
DEFINITION
Limited 4-wheel vehicles similar to SCORE Trophy Truck® Limited to any Sealed motor with maximum 525 hp.
Must use TH400 Transmission. No Underdrive or V-drive allowed.

Trophy Truck
DEFINITION
Unlimited 4-wheel vehicles. Vehicles must have a production appearing Truck or Sports Utility body. Gasoline engines must be normally aspirated. Turbo diesel engines are allowed (CR 32).

The new COPS Trophy Truck Spec at BFG Pit #6 at La Purisima RM749, 3am this morning, running first in class and 20 minutes in front of the #2 TT Spec guy:

These steekers were on the side of many race vehicles:

2 people on the podium sent to the hospital. 30 minute penalty and he loses the race.

Saw another video from a different angle. He wheelied over finish line and then braked hard on the slick wood of the podium causing him to lose the front end.

no doubt Ian eff'ed up but if in fact they hand the win to 45x....thats waaaay to harsh imho anyway:no:

David K - 11-18-2017 at 09:35 AM

It was indeed a stupid act after such a glorious race to win. He will be ashamed the rest of his life, I bet. Usually, there are SCORE people flagging racers to slow down when coming to the finish lines (and checkpoints)... There was that big S turn at the end to help slow down racers, too.

AKgringo - 11-18-2017 at 09:41 AM

Kind of like spiking the ball on the one yard line, then starting your end zone dance while the other team runs the ball back the other way!

Howard - 11-18-2017 at 10:48 AM

Yeah, but in life one should pay for their stupidity.

I am not into racing but I would of DQ him from the entire race for being such a bonehead endangering the lives of others.

Good for SCORE -- I get what he was doing, but not the right place or time. In addition to hurting people, I will bet he lost his Honda ride (as he should). Big education for 1X.

bajatrailrider - 11-19-2017 at 10:26 AM

My My how he got the energy to do that at end of race.

del mar - 11-19-2017 at 10:37 AM

He got on the bike 200 miles north of La Paz, and did not ride the full 1,130 some miles.

willardguy - 11-19-2017 at 10:53 AM

watch out for 9 year old Max Gordon!!!:o
