ATM's etc! Caution!!

chuckie - 11-30-2017 at 09:49 AM

Make sure that when you ask an ATM or banking question on this forum, that you understand the time frame in which your answers are framed. It seems quite a few of the answers are "it worked last year. month when we were there" The question is "does it work now?" I truly don't think that question can be answered. Things change fast. Safe travels!

Thanks, I'll keep what you said in mind next time I'm passing thru Kansas.

chuckie - 11-30-2017 at 11:05 AM

No ATM's in Kansas....We use real money....

norte - 11-30-2017 at 11:24 AM

come on. This forum is famous for "old" information. Got any maps of Kansas with pins for ATM's.

sancho - 11-30-2017 at 12:02 PM

Old info?
I did a lot of Mex travel back in the day, as in the only form
of exchange was the Travelers Check, that may sound to some
like trying to explain a cassette tape, had to stand in line,
get 2 signatures, talk to the manager, etc.

Yep. All these whipper snappers dont know how good they got it. Lol.

chuckie - 11-30-2017 at 12:44 PM

Dang snipperwhappers...

MulegeAL - 11-30-2017 at 01:06 PM

Some of the rancho guys that come to town for dental work at the Clinica have offered up chickens and such as payment on occasion.

Seems to work, haven't tried it in Kansas though. But I'm sure my old drinking buddy Chuckie would know the answer to that!

chuckie - 11-30-2017 at 01:19 PM

Whatever works Al! How you been?

MulegeAL - 12-1-2017 at 08:39 AM

Never better!

ATMs are like the rancho roads around here: some still there, some not!

BajaBlanca - 12-1-2017 at 09:12 AM

traveler's checks! that is what I used in Europe when I was a teen.

whippersnappers! what a fun word.

Udo - 12-1-2017 at 09:41 AM

Have you tried using traveler's checks in Baja?:o:?:

woody with a view - 12-1-2017 at 11:02 AM

just got an email from AAA which said they can get currency so i'd assume pesos are available if'n you'se guys can't figure out how to use ATMs.

chuckie - 12-1-2017 at 11:53 AM

Where do we get a list of the AAA locations in BAJA where we can get Pesos?

sancho - 12-1-2017 at 12:04 PM

The ATM rate is somewhere in the +1 peso rate above the Casa
Camino rate? Verdad? Like 5%? I once talked to AAA here in
San Clemente, got a deer in the headlights response, called
the, I believe Chula Vista office for an answer, figuring they
would be a bit more tuned into Mex

Maybe those people you’re referring to would benefit from bringing a bunch of pesos with them. Maybe not.

chuckie - 12-1-2017 at 12:32 PM

What people?

woody with a view - 12-2-2017 at 09:07 AM

Whoever you were referring to with the fifth word in your first sentence?

chuckie - 12-2-2017 at 09:55 AM

The person of the first part?
