Does anyone know of a bilingual realtor or notario in Baja Sur somewhere from Guererro Negro to Mulege?

Yes, i do know all that but i need an English speaking notario. The law about lisencing realtors is changing this year.

notarios are Mexican...they speak Spanish

YOU need a translator...
there are several approved translators in the area

Someone woke up on the "smarty pants" side of the bed. That was truly helpful information, ya think? I really did know that notarios are Mexican and speak Spanish but I thought maybe there was a bilingual office somewhere.

The only one I know of has now moved to La Paz. She was excellent albeit a bit expensive. Her name was Julieta and she worked in Santa Rosalia on the main drag, left hand side as you head up the street. Perhaps they can refer you to someone?

not a smart ass remark...
they are not supposed to translate to English

you need to provide a translation person and that person is supposed to be licensed if you want something translated

there is a liability for the notario
he needs to do "stuff" correctly
thats why he's there

The Notario we used in TJ spoke perfect English and helped us without using a translator. I'm sure he knew the law and followed it

I have spent many hours sitting in several Notarios offices. I do understand the legality of their position and the political demands on them but that does not negate their being able to speak English. This was not about the positional responsibility of a realtor or a notario and I know there are English speaking notaries in Mexico. There are probably people who speak 3 or more languages. I have found traveling the world you find out that there are multilingual people everywhere in every parts of life. If I were Swedish, I could have inquired if there was a legal professional who could chat with me in Swedish. And yes, I have used translators. This is not my first summer camp.
